These days, most people drink anything but water. We go for sodas, iced teas, juices, alcohol, coffee, and virtually any other type of liquid.
But that’s a big mistake because water is essential to life and if we want to stay healthy and feel good, we need to drink enough of it.

fact:
Water is involved in every bodily function from digestion and circulation through to the control of body temperature and the excretion of waste products.
Here are three solid reasons.
1. Drinking Water Before Meals Can Reduce Appetite
Did you know that drinking water strategically can help you eat less?
It’s true.
Research suggests that a single glass of water 10 to 20 minutes before a meal can make us eat 30 to 40 percent less food. That’s because water fills up the stomach - a key factor for satiety - which sends a signal to the brain that makes us feel fuller with less food.
2. Being Well-Hydrated Helps Flush Out Toxins
Being well-hydrates is essential because it allows us to urinate more often and flush out potentially harmful toxins that can otherwise build up into our systems and wreak havoc.
For example, drinking water regularly helps the kidneys filter out waste and certain minerals that otherwise stick around and form up into kidney stones.
Sweat is another way of flushing out toxins. The process which primarily exists to regulate body temperature also flushes out toxins similarly to urination.
Water is a constant reminder that life repeats. It's the only element that has a visible cycle.
3. Hydration Improves Brain and Muscle Function
As little as 2% dehydration has been shown to be detrimental to brain function and athletic performance. Common symptoms include muscle cramps, fatigue, reduced force production, brain fog, irritability, and headaches.
So, if you want to be productive at work and improve your athletic performance, make sure to drink enough water. But how much water should we drink?
Recommended Water Intake
There is no one-shoe-fits-all recommendation here. How much water you should drink depends heavily on the climate of your country, how much you sweat, how much you weigh, and how active you are.
In general, men should drink about 3 liters per day and women should drink 2 liters. Again, this is a general recommendation, and you may do great with a bit more or less than that.
